Choosing a Hotel/Motel for your GSSA Tournament Experience
We know that there are many choices and factors that go into making a decision on where to stay for your Tournament experience. The hotels listed by GSSA have been chosen for a number of reasons. This little chart attempts to explain why you should stay in a GSSA recommended hotel:
PROS |
CONS |
Located close to selected ball fields |
Your choice may cause you unexpected delays in driving distances to and from the ballfields. |
Varying price ranges with many selected amenities that teams enjoy such as laundry facilities, breakfast options, and willingness to work with youth groups. |
No laundry facilities, no food options, unsure of the quality, unwillingness to work with youth groups. May be in unusual locations. |
Nearby shopping, restaurants and other youth related attractions |
May be inconvenient to attractions that we know our youth groups enjoy |
Adds to your Tournament Experience as you are in the middle of the action including opening ceremonies, other games and closing ceremonies. |
Far from the action causing the players and families to be separate from the tournament activities. |
Selected hotels and properties make it possible for GSSA to bring events to the local community. |
Have no connection with softball or the local community that brings events to the Region. |
Prices are reasonable |
You may pay less, but you get far less. |
We know that there will be teams that feel they may get a “bargain” by staying in locations not included in our list. As the host of literally hundreds of youth and adult tournaments we know that the teams and families that enjoy the events the most stay in our recommended hotels. As a suggestion use our handy hotel guide and call our hotel representative Lauryl Hinerman at lhinerman@placertourism.com or 916-773-5400 for your room needs.
Thanks for your time reading this and we look forward to your visit to the South Placer Valley and Roseville and Sacramento for your tournament experience.
