ACE CERTIFICATION: Beginning in 2009, each team that participates in Championship Play must have at least one ACE certified staff member in the dugout. The ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program is a new certification program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels – from beginning coaches to experienced veterans – an opportunity to certify as a coach with a national softball organization. As the National Governing Body of Softball, it is the ASA’s responsibility to ensure that our coaches achieve a certain level of understanding of what their duties are as coach of a youth softball team. The ACE Certification videos and the ACE Certification Manual are practical guides to the everyday situations you will encounter as a youth softball coach. After obtaining your ACE certification, you will be well prepared to coach a youth softball team.
The guiding principles behind the ACE Coaching Certification Program are: A-chieve: A certain level of
knowledge. The videos cover such topics as Principles of Coaching, Legal Issues in Sports, First Aid, Practice Organization, Coach/Umpire Relations, and Sport Specific Skills. Once you have passed the ACE Certification test you are an ACE Coach and receive full ACE Benefits. It is that easy! Benefits of ACE membership: ACE Level 1 Coach Certification
ACE Level 2 Coach Certification
ACE Level 3 Coach Certification

ACE Level 2 Certification ACE Continuing Education Certification
To be eligible for this level of certification a coach must have
completed the ACE Level 3 Certification. HOW DO I BECOME ACE CERTIFIED? To become ACE certified in Sacramento ASA, we ask that you do this through your account at www.RegisterASA.com. Here are the steps that teams/leagues will follow in order to take their ACE test: 1. Once the coach has been added to the team/league account, the administrator/manager will click on a link for each coach which will email that coach instructions to take the ACE test. **The administrator will be able to select the coach or coaches they have decided who will take the test. 2. The coach will then need to check their email, and follow the detailed instructions to complete the test. There is a link in the email that they will need to click on which will direct them to the ACE Website. If they do not already have an account through the ACE Website, they will be prompted to create an ACE account. **If any coach asks if they should click the “PURCHASE NOW” link on the ACE website, the answer is “NO”** The coach should contact Eli or RegisterASA to find out what is wrong with their ACE account if this happens. 3. Once the coach has completed the test, their record will be updated on our end, and that coach will then be able to be invoiced. The system will not allow the coach to be invoiced until they have completed the test!! Once the invoice has been created, you will send the background checks like normal. Once you have approved the invoice, we will print the cards with the Background Check Logo as well as the ACE Logo. For those of you who have had coaches register already for 2009, we will be creating upgrade programs that will allow them to take the test and then be invoiced for it.
