USA Olympic Softball Team Visits Sacramento 

It’s not too late to still get tickets for the “Bound For Beijing” Tour on May 19, 2008. Lisa Fernandez, Cat Osterman, Jenny Finch and all 18 of the USA Olympians will visit Sacramento on their National Team Tour in preparation for the Summer Olympics this August. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Cassi at crogers@sacramentoasa.org 

Youth A and B Tournaments 

May means Championship Play Tournament season is right around the corner as we start early this year. The full schedule is as follows: 

May 24 – 25    14 and Under Hall of Fame Tournament
June 20 – 22    Association A Tournament (All teams wishing to continue in Championship Play must play in the Association Tournament)
June 28 – 29    Association B Tournament (All teams wishing to continue in Championship Play must play in the Association Tournament)
July 4 – 6         16 and Under National Qualifier
July 12 – 13     18 A Regional Championships and B Tournament 

Nationals and Western Nationals in both A and B Divisions will be played the week of July 28 – August 3^rd. 

PCS Events 

GSSA created a series of Spring, Summer and Fall Tournaments to keep teams sharp and play in a culminating event in the Fall. While Championship Play events take our focus through the summer, don’t forget these great events throughout the Sacramento region. May 17 – 18 is a very nice weekend to play at the new complex in Sparks, Nevada. The new Golden Eagle Regional Park features six all weather fields that will be used for this big event. Gary Ybarra expects 35 – 40 teams to participate in this annual event.

 Men’s 45 and Over National Tournament

 While youth events dominate the summer months, the GSSA staff will not forget the Men’s Slow Pitch event that we are hosting later this year. Local teams are encouraged to gather their guys together for this competitive yet fun event. For details contact Cassi at crogers@sacramentoasa.org
